Next month, Notice of Assessments (levies) for the 2024-25 financial period will be sent to South Australian vineyard owners.

Recognising the tough operating conditions in the wine industry, Vinehealth encourages vineyard owners to contact us early to discuss payment options. In agreed circumstances, we can offer instalment plans and deferment of due date.

To find out more about payment plans, please contact Vinehealth on 8273 0550 or admin@vinehealth.com.au.

About the Vinehealth Australia Levy

Under the Phylloxera and Grape Industry Act 1995, all vineyards in South Australia of 0.5 hectares or more of planted vines, alive or dead, are required to be registered with Vinehealth Australia. Landowners of these vines are required to pay a levy contribution towards the state’s biosecurity activities.

Under the Act, complete removal of vines from the ground is required for the levy to no longer apply. Non-productive vines, abandoned vines, or vines left to animal grazing still incur the levy, as they pose a biosecurity risk.
