Phylloxera Management Zones in Australia
Agriculture Victoria has confirmed new phylloxera detections in the Yarra Valley – both inside the current Maroondah Phylloxera Infested Zone (PIZ) and outside the PIZ in the Phylloxera Risk Zone (PRZ) to the south-east of the Maroondah PIZ, near Yarra Junction. Refer to the Agriculture Victoria Industry Notice and MAP dated February 2020.
The Badger Creek extension (shown as the purple crosshatch on the Agriculture Victoria map) and the new 5km buffer area in the PRZ (shown in orange on the map) are considered Phylloxera Interim Buffer Zones (PIBZ) under SA’s Plant Quarantine Standard while they are pending gazettal as a PIZ.

- Phylloxera Infested Zone (PIZ) is known to have phylloxera
- Phylloxera Interim Buffer Zone (PIBZ) means a zone of 5 km radius around a new detection of phylloxera in Australia, as officially notified by the Chief Plant Health Manager of the jurisdiction in which the detection has been made, as an interim measure pending declaration of a new or amended PIZ in that jurisdiction. At present this is a South Australian management zone only.

- Phylloxera Exclusion Zone (PEZ) known to be free from phylloxera
