Vinehealth Australia is preparing to send Vineyard Records to all registered South Australian vineyard owners to check.

Ensuring the information held in the Register is up to date and accurate is a key part of keeping our industry safe from pests and diseases.

We encourage you to review your records and advise of any changes before 31 January 2025.

Key points to consider:

  • Please ensure you have the correct contact information and authorised persons listed.
  • Cross check the total area shown on the plantings table to the estimated area shown on the map: if there is a variation, please advise of corrections required.
  • Dead or non-productive vines are still required to be recorded on the Register as they can harbour pests and diseases and therefore remain a biosecurity risk.
  • If you have removed all your vines and thus have no vineyard and no intent to replant, please request a Grower Exit declaration.
  • Check your communication preferences: if Vinehealth needs to get in touch with you urgently, do we have the right contact details?

As all annual Vineyard Records will be sent according to each registered owner’s communications preferences in early December, if you have not received your records by mid-December please contact Jo Bainbridge, System Manager at admin@vinehealth.com.au.  If you have alternative or multiple delivery locations/addresses, then please contact others delegated within your organisation who may have received the Vineyard Record to review.

Ways of updating your records:

You can use the Vineyard Records PDF you receive by email or post to record changes. You can then email or post the completed, signed form back to Vinehealth:

Email: admin@vinehealth.com.au

Post: Reply Paid 71610, Kent Town DC, SA 5071 (no stamp required)

Alternatively, those with a registered email address with Vinehealth, are welcome to use the Grape Industry Kiosk via the Vinehealth Australia website.

Online access will allow you to view all vineyards associated with that email and you can download PDF records including maps. If you need to reset your password, please know passwords must be 10 characters long, and include upper and lower case letters, numbers and a symbol. A 2 Factor Authentication is also required which is linked to the associated email address.

The information held in the Vinehealth Register is vital. Vinehealth has worked tirelessly for 125 years to manage risks to vines in South Australia, principally phylloxera. We can only do that if the information held in the Register is up to date and correct.

The Register holds the contact details of the owner as well as your vineyard manager, if relevant. It is important that we can contact the right people with important biosecurity information.

The Register is required to record the planting details for each vineyard with 0.5 hectares or more of planted vines. Information on variety, age and rootstock enables Vinehealth to identify and manage potential biosecurity risks.

Information held in the Register is used on 30 April each year to calculate your Annual Notice of Assessment. You will be unable to make changes to your planting records after your invoice has been issued in May. To ensure you are charged correctly, use this annual Vineyard Record review to ensure your planting details are correct.

The South Australian grape and wine industry has endured unprecedented challenges in recent years, and Vinehealth thanks you for maintaining a focus on biosecurity. Ensuring the information held in the Register is up to date and accurate is a key part of keeping our industry safe from pests and diseases.

The small team of four at Vinehealth is here to assist you. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel welcome to contact us via email: admin@vinehealth.com.au. We will attend to all enquiries as quickly as possible.
