During the Loxton Queensland fruit fly outbreak about 10 months ago, Vinehealth Australia and PIRSA Biosecurity SA produced detailed movement conditions mandatory for wine supply chain businesses to comply with at the time.

It’s timely to share these, to remind all wine businesses and associated suppliers of the potential impacts of an outbreak on activities such as movement and processing of winegrapes, sending of diagnostic samples and cleaning of harvesters.

We recommend you familiarise yourself with these requirements here and are prepared in the case of a future outbreak. We are in the process of converting this information into a quick reference guide for businesses, which we will share with you shortly.

We also acknowledge that the Lindsay Point Queensland fruit fly outbreak declared on 21 May 2019 is still current and movement restrictions for fruit fly host produce in force and will remain active until at least 22 December 2019.
