Vinehealth Australia has discussed with Wine Australia, Australian Grape & Wine, the Australian Wine Research Institute and the Wine Biosecurity Committee the need for a practical and customised Biosecurity Toolkit for the wine industry.
The Toolkit would be a consolidated solution for industry to convert biosecurity intent into action, thus accelerating biosecurity adoption across the supply chain. It would also enable vineyard owners to meet the biosecurity component of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.
The aim would be for the Toolkit to provide businesses with a guided approach on what practices to implement, and how to implement them. Recommended practices would be customised to the size and complexity of each business.
Vinehealth is leading the development of a project brief which will incorporate considerable industry consultation in the form of working groups and testing groups to ensure the outcomes are fit-for-purpose.
It is envisaged that the project will begin in the first half of 2022. We will keep industry updated on progress.
