Vinehealth Australia has met with Biosecurity SA following comprehensive industry consultation of proposed changes to the phylloxera-related conditions in the SA Plant Quarantine Standard (PQS), in another step towards the introduction of the new PQS chapter.
CEO Inca Lee and Technical Manager Suzanne McLoughlin met with Biosecurity SA staff earlier this month to discuss a list of suggested PQS changes. As a result of these discussions, Vinehealth Australia has completed further work and will continue to liaise and discuss potential changes with Biosecurity SA to ensure agreed changes are implemented in a timely manner.
“We wish to thank all those individuals who provided feedback during the consultation period. It’s been a long process, but the end result will be a strengthened PQS for the state, that will better protect our grape and wine industries from pest and disease incursion – principally phylloxera,” Inca said.
