We created a range of Wine Tourism Biosecurity Signs in 2017 to help wineries educate visitors about farm-gate hygiene. Since then, hundreds of signs have been purchased by companies around Australia.

To celebrate these early adopters, we’ve created a new page on our website called Biosecurity Supporters, which lists some of the companies who have purchased signs.

The page also includes photos of people with their signs, and some quotes about changes to visitor behaviour seen as a result of these signs.

Dee Wright, Cellar Door Manager at Hahndorf Hill in the Adelaide Hills is one of the Biosecurity Supporters who is passionate about keeping vines healthy.

“Hahndorf is one of the most visited towns in Australia, with people coming from all over the world, so I like that the signs include messages in English and Mandarin. We’ve seen people stopping, reading and not going any further. Educating people about biosecurity is part of our social responsibility for our winery, our region and our state, to keep phylloxera out,” Dee said.
