At Vinehealth Australia we love seeing biosecurity at the forefront of community facilities and events, to ensure that our vineyards are being protected and people are informed of the important role they play in helping to keep our vines safe from pests, diseases and weeds.

We’d like to acknowledge the McLaren Vale Grape Wine and Tourism Association’s (MVGWTA) Phylloxera and Biosecurity working group for their installation in April of our Responsible Visitation Signs along their local Shiraz Trail (see photo above), and biosecurity messaging in their 2019 Sea and Vines Festival brochure (see photo below).

We’d also like to send a Shout Out to NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) as major sponsors of the Forage event at Orange F.O.O.D Week held in April. NSW DPI provided organisers with biosecurity advice to help keep their wine industry phylloxera-free.

Visitors were asked to enter Forage via footbaths which were filled with disinfectant solution. Information was provided to visitors to explain the importance of this process through the display of signage, social media and emails in the lead up to the event.

As always, Vinehealth Australia is here to help you improve your on-farm and off-farm biosecurity. If you need any assistance with signage or disinfestation kits, please contact Office Manager Jo Bainbridge on (08) 8273 0550. We have a range of ready-to-use biosecurity messaging for events on our website.

If you have information you’d like to share with us on your biosecurity activities, please contact Cindie Smart via email at communications@vinehealth.com.au.
