As the warmer regions finish and the cooler regions continue vintage, we traditionally see a wave of harvesters moving south in SA.

As this movement occurs, we encourage you to use the Naracoorte Heat Shed to sterilise your harvesters and tractors between SA winegrowing regions.

Machinery and equipment are high risk vectors for spreading weeds, diseases and pests such as phylloxera, as they can carry grapevine material or soil and are especially hard to clean. The only way to ensure machinery and equipment is free of pests, diseases and weeds is to ‘bake it’ in a heat shed.

Vinehealth Australia operates a purpose-built Heat Shed in South Australia, located at the Naracoorte Saleyards, that can be used for disinfesting machinery, equipment and diesel-powered vehicles.

To book a Heat Shed bake, phone Sarah Bird on 0429 430 641. For further information, refer to our fact sheet Using the Naracoorte Heat Shed
