Although the vintage peak in South Australia is yet to hit for 2018, PIRSA (Biosecurity SA) Compliance Officers continue to patrol our borders to keep our agricultural industries safe from pests, diseases and weeds.
Two trucks carrying machinery destined for SA vineyards were stopped and found to be non-compliant, as they presented with no biosecurity documentation. These trucks were immediately turned around and sent back to their state of origin.
Biosecurity is a shared responsibility. If you are importing machinery, equipment, grapes, grape products, diagnostic samples or propagation material, ensure that you comply with the mandatory movement requirements outlined in South Australia’s Plant Quarantine Standards.
